How does a small firm nestled in the hills of Mid Wales lead the charge for high speed, off-grid internet, and become Starlink Rental UK?
That’s a great question, and the answer is probably not what you’re expecting.
It all started in 2023, when Guy, (or Moggs to those that know him) bought a single, simple starlink setup for personal use. Guy wanted a way of connecting to high speed internet, way out in the hills, even where there’s no mains electricity.
A little while later, while out walking at the nearby Llandrindod Lake, Guy bumped into an organiser for the Welsh 2-day Enduro. They got talking, and Guy learned that the Enduro organisers needed a way of connecting to high-speed internet throughout their event.
They had tried the usual 4G mobile connections, but they were just too patchy and slow to be able to rely on for such an important event.
Not to mention they needed to work off-grid, in all weathers.
So, Guy offered to let them use his own, newly acquired personal setup to cover their needs.
It was this chance encounter and gesture of goodwill that ignited the idea of offering Starlink satellite internet as a fully-established service- and thus, Starlink Rental UK was born.
